In my animation video, I used stop motion. I used different miniature ladybugs that I had around my house and used a hand-made set of a forest that my mom made for her stop motion videos. I had a lot of fun moving the creatures and creating a story with stop motion. One limit that I ran into was that I didn't own a tripod so it was really difficult to keep the camera in the same place during each shot. I thought my final film was pretty successful for my first stop motion video, and I think this is a really fun way to make animations!

Project 10
In this project, we worked with film for the first time! We made two videos, one showing a dystopia and one showing a utopia, that were 30 seconds each. The dystopia shows a very bleak and disgusting world while the utopia shows a very angelic and beautiful world. The two videos are both completely different and highlight interesting differences between utopias and dystopias.

Project 9
In this project, we created magazines using our own photos and ideas. Amelia Diana and I worked together to create a fashion magazine called Diana Magazine. We had a lot of fun taking pictures of different fashion while we were on a trip in D.C. and incorporating those photos into our magazine.

Project 8
In project 8, we explored the different types of portraits and the different ways of shooting them. We learned about different techniques to make portraits more appealing, including good contrast, color schemes, and a specific mood. Additionally, we looked at fine art portraits and commercial portraits. Fine art portraits are shot and edited to express certain feelings and emotions and to tell a story. Commercial portraits are shot to make the viewer want to purchase either the project or magazine due to the interesting photo. I had a lot of fun taking close-ups of my friends and composing different shots to create certain moods.

Annie Leibovitz
I love the extremely high contrast of this photo, and how this high contrast makes the dark colors on her hair and shirt fade into the black background. This high contrast makes all of her features clearly stand out and is a very interesting photo to look at.

I absolutely love the colors that were used in this photography. The red color of the flowers and her lips complements the green color of the leaves in a very interesting way. Also, the very white color of her shirt and skin contrasted with the dark color of her hair and background has a very nice contrast. I also love the soft lighting used in the photography.

I love the simplicity and color scheme of this picture. The solid background and the solid color of her shirt really bring focus to the ice cream cone.

I really love the cool color scheme that was used in this photo. The dark purple of her lips, the green from her makeup, the blue from her eyes, and the blue form the background all complement each other nicely. The blue title also adds to the color scheme.

Project 7
In this project, we learned about the Surrealist Art movement, and then looked at how that art form has created modern surrealism photography. Surrealism photography takes very imaginative and interesting images that don't reflect reality. Surrealism allows for photographers to tell stories through their pictures as well with the alteration of reality. By editing my images, I learned how to cut different images out and layer images to create a completely new image out of multiple photos. I had a lot of fun experimenting with the different qualities of surrealism in this project.
